Donald Regis Eiler
Donald Regis Eiler, 83, of Emlenton passed away after a brief illness Wednesday afternoon at ACMH Hospital in Kittanning.
Born July 29, 1935, in Bruin, he was the son of the late Joseph “Clem” and Hilda Styer Eiler.
He was a self-employed triaxle driver for most of his life. He eventually retired from Grove City Paving as their mechanic in 1998.
Don was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a master mechanic who loved to spend time in his garage where he restored numerous tractors and trucks over his lifetime. Most of all, Don was proud and loved his children and all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Chuck) Cooper of Boyers and Darla (Tom) Aughton of Emlenton; four sons, Barry Eiler of Eau Claire, Eric (Mindy) Eiler of Parker, Donald (Charlene) Eiler of Barkeyville and Jay (Tracie) Eiler of Hilliards; three sisters, Dorothy “Toots” Miller of Hooker, Sally Michael of Butler and Joan Phillips of Parker; three brothers, Clifford (Imagene) Eiler of Erie, Bill Eiler of Parker and Robert E. (Gerene) Eiler of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; his companion, Gladys Cordwell of Petrolia; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Bowser Eiler, who passed in 2015; his brothers, Gerard, Raymond, Parker and John “Jack” Eiler; his sister, Hilda Eiler; and his daughter in-law, Cheryl Eiler.
EILER — Friends of Donald Regis Eiler, who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S.
