Russell L. Kelley

Russell L. Kelley, 79, of Buffalo Township passed away Monday while in the company of family at his home in Sarver.

Russ was born April 17, 1939, in Butler, and was a son of the late Mildred F. (Hartzel) and Russell F. Kelley.

Russell enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he was a heavy equipment operator.

After his honorable discharge, Russ was a self-employed owner and operator and over the road truck driver for many years. In 1994, he took a driving position with Midwest Transport Inc., in Robinson, Ill., where he worked until his retirement in 2015.

He was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Sarver.

Russ enjoyed caring for his pride and joy, a Kenworth Cabover Tractor. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping with his family, classic cars and trucks and CB radios.

Russ is survived by his wife of 56 years, Constance L. “Connie” (Johnston) Kelley; his son, Russell A. Kelley of Buffalo Township; his daughter and son-in-law, Carol L. and Rocky Sheaffer of Jefferson Township; and his sister, Ethel Lauer of Saxonburg.

Russell was preceded in death by his two brothers, Francis A. and Richard M. Kelley.

KELLEY — Family and friends of Russell L. Kelley, who died Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 210 Westminster Road, Sarver.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. following the visitation in the church with Pastor Rob Swinsburg officiating.Arrangements were entrusted to Redmond Funeral Home, Freeport.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
