Harry “Frank” McCullough

Harry “Frank” McCullough, 74, of East Butler passed away Thursday at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, Va.

He was born Nov. 16, 1943, in Butler, and was the son of the late Harry F. and Emma (McCall) McCullough.

Frank was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.

He started as a laborer in 1974 at Penn Champ, working his way up to plant manager.

He was a member of the East Butler Fire Hall and East Butler City Council.

He spent his retirement traveling and working on his campground and park named after his grandson, Bradley McCullough Park.

Frank's park was the joy of his life, where he enjoyed hosting family reunions, weddings, Easter egg hunts and Marine Corps and transplant survivors picnics.

He was a double transplant survivor. Up until his health failed, he transported many sick children to Pittsburgh hospitals.

Frank loved to laugh and in turn, made those around him laugh.

Surviving are his son, Raymond Spencer McCullough of Icard, N.C.; his daughter-in-law, Cathy McCullough of Icard, N.C.; and his daughter, Shaconda Dewar of Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Etta Mae (Gene) Allen of Reno, Nev., Linda King of Butler, and Cindy (Patrick) Ford of Mount Chestnut; a brother, Bernard McCullough of Chicora; a number of nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Lemoyne McCullough.

McCULLOUGH — Friends of Harry “Frank” McCullough, who died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
