Dorothy L. Stevens

Dorothy L. Stevens, 83, of Valencia passed away on Tuesday afternoon at Valencia Woods.

Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Endicott, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Loretta Canty Selner.

She was a member of St. Kilian Church.

Dorothy had been a teacher in Owego and Rochester, N.Y. She had also worked as a shipper for LabChem, Inc. in Pittsburgh.

Surviving are her husband, John E. Stevens, whom she married on May 7, 1960; four daughters, Kate (David) Biertempfel of Valencia, Lynn (Joseph) Barber of Butler, Shawna Watts of Renfrew, and Johna (Kelly) Jacobs of Valencia; a son, Michael (Denise) Stevens of Valencia; a sister, Patricia Thomas of Endicott, N.Y.; a brother, David Selner of California; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her former son-in-law, Charles Watts.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, William, John M.D. and Michael Selner; and a sister, Ruth Ann Campbell.

STEVENS — Friends of Dorothy L. Stevens, who died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, are invited to a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township. The Rev. Charles Bober will officiate. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the Mass in the church hall.Burial will be in Mars Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Memorials may be made to the church.Condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
