Joseph F. Pierre

Joseph F. Pierre, 66, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening at his home.

Born July 28, 1952, in Tarentum, he was the son of Frank Pierre and the late Dolores D'Amico Pierre.

Joe had been a project manager for Westinghouse and had also worked for Siemens, KeyLogic and LTI.

He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church and had attended St. Kilian Church.

He had coached and assisted with the Mars Baseball and Softball associations and was a swim coach at the Allegheny Valley YMCA. He started the Mars High School Swim Team and had served on the board of the Pine-Richland Youth Center.

In his younger years, he was a firefighter for the West Deer Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Murphy Pierre, whom he married on Aug. 30, 1980; five daughters, Evann (Dr. Nestor) Tomycz of Sewickley, Jaclyn StukatGren (Victor) in Berlin, Chloe (Sean) Matthews of Valencia, Gabrielle (Timothy) Vandall of Sewickley and Phoebe Pierre of Valencia; five sons, Daniel (Agnes) Pierre of Pittsburgh, David (Hannah) Pierre of Gibsonia and Thomas, James and Andrew Pierre, all of Valencia; his grandchildren, Sage, Lida, Nolan, Elin, Ryan and Daphne; his father, Frank Pierre of West Deer; a sister, Jacque Pierre of West Deer; and a brother, Phillip (Nealey) Pierre of Pittsburgh.

PIERRE — Friends of Joseph F. Pierre, who died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating.Burial will take place in Holy Savior Cemetery in Richland Township.Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of Mars High School, 520 Route 228, Mars, PA 16046, for a program recently started by his son, Andrew.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
