Ronald M. Haury

Ronald M. Haury, 74, of West Sunbury, formerly of Erie, passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness surrounded by his family.

Ron was born April 16, 1944, in Medina, Ohio. He was the son of the late Barney N. Haury and the late Eleanor M. Haury.

Ron was a custom woodworker and was a manager for Carter Lumber for over 40 years. After his retirement, he had been employed by Campbell Bus Lines.

Ron enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, boating, fishing and riding his Harley.

He was raised in the Catholic faith.

Ron was a simple man who lived his life in a way that set an example for everyone who knew him. He worked hard, but enjoyed life thoroughly.

He was blessed to have loved two wives wholeheartedly, and was absolutely dedicated to his children and grandchildren.

His best efforts went into everything he did, from riding horses as a young man, to building a business, crafting custom furniture and creating beautiful gardens.

As a patriarch and a friend, his impact will be felt for generations.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Jimi Haury, whom he married, July 1, 2000; two daughters, Pam (Lou) Flori of Des Moines, Iowa, and Deb (Todd) Logan of Hershey; two sons, John (Jeanne) Haury of Sewickley and Rob (Laura) Allison of Mount Joy, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren, Alaina and Luke Haury, Logan, Chase and Jack Flori, Abi and Ian Logan, and Dylan, Kathlyn and Shane Allison.

He is also survived by his brother, Gil (Joyce) Haury of Grafton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Bea Haury; and one brother, Larry Haury.

HAURY — The family of Ronald Haury, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.A blessing service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
