Jack L. Manuel

Jack L. Manuel, 87, of Butler passed away Sunday at Lowrie Place.

He was born March 10, 1931, in Butler, and was a son of the late Frank L. Manuel and the late Violet M. Taggart Manuel Harris.

Jack was a police officer for the Butler Township Police Department and later became a parole supervisor for the Pennsylvania State Board of Probation and Parole.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War.

He was a member of VFW Post 249 of Butler and the American Legion Post 117 of Butler.

He was a member of North Main Street Church of God.

Jack was one of the founders of the Butler County Law Enforcement Officers Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his one daughter, Jody Crouse and her husband, Dennis, of Butler; seven grandchildren, Joshua J. Manuel, Jeremy L. Manuel, Jenna E. Manuel, Tyler L. Crouse and his wife, Sarah, Spencer L. Crouse and his wife, Bridget, Fletcher J. Crouse and Caitlin C. Crouse; two great-grandchildren, Norah E. Crouse and Barrett L. Crouse; two brothers, Eugene G. Manuel of Butler (his identical twin) and Ross K. Manuel of Butler; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Helen Wagner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma J. Manuel, whom he married on Nov. 21, 1953, and who passed away on Dec. 13, 2005; one son, James G. Manuel, and two brothers, Charles Manuel and David Manuel.

MANUEL — Friends of Jack L. Manuel, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Dennis L.
