Adams man accused of assault

Jerimiah John Haskins

MARS — Adams Township Police arrested a borough man Wednesday after he was alleged to have attacked his wife at their home.

Jerimiah John Haskins, 36, of Mars is charged with simple assault after his wife reportedly called police saying he assaulted her Tuesday evening.

The woman told police that Haskins “cracked her in the face” during an argument, knocking her glasses off, and that he struck her again when she tried to call 911, according to a police report.

She managed to call 911, according to reports, at which time Haskins fled the apartment.

Responding officers reported observing redness to the woman’s face and a small cut on her cheek.

Officers also were provided a cell phone video of the incident in which they reported hearing “a male identified as Jerimiah on the video say, ‘I should have hit you harder.’”

Officers took Haskins into custody and took him to the Butler County Prison Thursday, where he is held on $2,500 bail.

His preliminary hearing is set Sept. 25.
