Margaret R. “Marge” Meindl
Margaret R. “Marge” Meindl, 69, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
She was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Butler, and was the daughter of Alvin G. Rettig and the late Bertha Herold Rettig.
Marge was a 1966 graduate of Butler High School. She then attended Capitol University and went on to receive her M. Ed. and MBA from Penn State University.
Marge worked as a professional development manager for over 25 years for IBM in Marietta, Ga., Boca Raton, Fla., Hong Kong, China, and Raleigh, N.C., retiring in 2008.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot.
Marge organized tutors to help low income students learn to read through the Augustine Literacy Project in Raleigh, N.C.
In addition to her father, Alvin G. Rettig, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine E. “Kat” Vegerano and her husband, Joseph, of Butler; her granddaughter, Adelina Vegerano; three siblings, Robert Rettig and his wife, Carol, of Frederick, Md., Bonnie Isovitsch and her husband, George, of Chocowinity, N.C., and Roger Rettig and his wife, Nancy, of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, Bertha Herold Rettig, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Meindl, whom she married on June 4, 1983, and who passed away on May 13, 2017.
MEINDL — Friends of Margaret R. “Marge” Meindl, who died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, with the Rev.
