Severe thunderstorms to hit area, may cause flooding
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh is warning people that a group of strong thunderstorms could soon hit areas of Butler County.
The office reports that the storms, which could bring small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain, will affect Butler County, including the areas of Butler, Cranberry, Lyndora, Zelienople, and Slippery Rock, as well as sections of Interstate 79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
NWS said the storm is also producing periods of “torrential rain” and may cause localized flooding.
