Katherine V. Salvati

Mrs. Katherine V. Salvati, 86, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away Tuesday at the Newhaven Court at Clearview.

Mrs. Salvati was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Ellwood City, to the late Michael and Margaret Debranski Lasky.

She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1949. She also was a member of the Holy Redeemer parish while living in Ellwood City.

Katherine had worked at the Ellwood City Ledger in the advertising department for several years. She later worked for the Ellwood City Area School District from 1979 until her retirement in 2007 at Lincoln High School, and both Perry and Northside elementary schools as a clerk and aide.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, spending time with her family and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Most of all, she was devoted to caring for her daughter, Kathy Sue.

Mrs. Salvati is survived by her daughters, Karen (John) Primerano of Charlotte, N.C., and Peggy (Gary) Tonini of Butler; her grandchildren, Michael Primerano and his fiancée, Stacey Staples, Brian (Rebecca) Primerano, Natalie (Max) Oswald, Pamela (Chuck Veasey) Iman, Ari Lynn (Ryan) Robinson and Andrew Tonini; and her eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aristo Salvati, whom she married Oct. 7, 1950, and who died April 10, 1981; her daughter, Kathy Sue Salvati in 2011; and her sisters, Gloria Schierbaum, Margaret Maxwell and Kathleen Thompson.

SALVATI — Visitation for Katherine V. Salvati, who died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, will be from 1 p.m. Friday until the time of the celebration of life service at 4 p.m. at Samuel Teolis Funeral Homeand Cremation Services with the Rev. Mark Brown officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.Mrs. Salvati's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Newhaven Court at Clearview and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care, especially Amy Creese for her constant loving care of our mother.Memorial contributions in Katherine's name may be made to the Amedisys Hospice Care, 240 Pullman Square, Suite 255, Butler, Pa 16001.
