Katherine J. “Katie” Ostrowski

Katherine J. “Katie” Ostrowski, 69, formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Katie was born June 2, 1949, in Ellwood City. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Butler. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Butler and the United Cerebral Palsy Charity Foundation.

An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, Katie enjoyed cheering on the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. She also loved playing bingo and cross stitching. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Gary L. Ostrowski; her son, Gary J. Ostrowksi and his wife, Mary, of Fishersville, Va.; her daughter, Tammy A. Kozar and her husband, Steve, of Callery; her grandchildren, Bradyn, Ashley, Samantha, Joseph and Emily; her mother, Margaret McCormick Hufnagel of Butler; her sister, Cheryle Walls of Akron, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Charles E. Hufnagel, Katie was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Joseph and Kurt Hufnagel.

OSTROWSKI — Friends of Katherine J. “Katie” Ostrowski, who died Sunday, July 22, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made in Katie's honor to the American Cancer Society, c/o Breast Cancer Awareness, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
