Debra Sue Tokey

Debra Sue Tokey, 63, of Butler passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday while under the care of the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Nov. 20, 1954, in Turtle Creek, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Gladys Harper Bash.

Debra was an active member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church where she served as a eucharistic minister.

She was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School. Debra was employed as a retail associate at J.C. Penney and Kmart.

She enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching. She loved cooking and baking, and she was especially known for her phenomenal cookies. Debra enjoyed spending time at Ohiopyle State Park with her family. Debra was a people person and she will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Debra leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, David Tokey of Butler, whom she married on Sept. 26, 1981; her sons, David Tokey and his companion, Lindsey Brickner of Pittsburgh, and Jason Tokey and his wife, Erin Moran Tokey of Frederick, Md.; and her grandchildren, Olivia and Jonah Tokey.

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffery Bash, and her grandson, Victor Tokey.

TOKEY — Friends of Debra Sue Tokey, who died on Sunday, July 15, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Twp., 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Frederick Gruber, celebrant.Debra will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Butler.Memorial contributions in Debra's honor may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org/donate.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
