A Pittsburgh man was ordered held for court at a preliminary hearing Monday on charges of possession of crack cocaine.

Marcus Glenn Troupe, 25, of Pittsburgh was held for court on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and a traffic violation.

Butler police filed the charges after pulling over a vehicle Troupe allegedly drove away from a house under surveillance for suspected drug activity on March 24.

Police said they smelled marijuana and Troupe gave permission to search the vehicle.

A plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine was found stuffed behind the glove box, totaling about 47 grams. Troupe also handed over a plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana, police said.
