Mary M. Rasely

Mary M. Rasely, 94, of Butler passed away Monday at her daughter's home while being lovingly cared for by her youngest granddaughter, Abby.

Born in Butler on Aug. 2, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Margaret Turner Shuler Sr.

A homemaker, she also served as the bookkeeper for W.C. Rasely Resellers, Inc.

During World War II, she supported the war effort by working in the shell shop at Pullman Standard.

Mary was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She also volunteered at Butler Catholic School during her children and grandchildren's school days.

She is survived by two sons, Wilbert C. “Bub” Rasely Jr. and his wife, Kathi, of Butler, and James C. Rasely and his wife, Michele, of Slippery Rock; two daughters, M. Stephanie Hook of East Butler, and Cheryl A. “Pete” Cobern and her husband, Steve, of Butler; one brother, Harry J. “Skip” Shuler Jr. and his wife, Augie, of Butler; two sisters, Agnes Osche of Cabot, and Jane Beck of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; nine grandchildren, David M. Zanicky and his wife, Stacy, Michele L. Smeltzer and her husband, Roger, Kristen L. Rasely, Justin A. Cobern, Allysa M. Walker and her husband, Cody, Lacey A. Rasely, Sara C. Cobern, Cassie L. Davis and her husband, Shawn, and Abby M. Cobern; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wilbert C. “Web” Rasely Sr., who passed away Feb. 21, 2011; a daughter, Roberta E. “Sue” Zanicky; an infant son; two brothers; and one sister.

RASELY — Friends of Mary M. Rasely, who died Monday, July 2, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.Members of St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:35 a.m. Friday at the church to recite the rosary.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
