Joseph Emmanuel Erickson

Joseph Emmanuel Erickson, 67, passed away from cancer on Saturday.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1950, in Butler.

Joe graduated from Butler High School, Butler Community College and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. He served as a firearms instructor and DCNR ranger, until his retirement, where his passion for conservation and love of nature transcended both his personal and professional life.

An avid outdoorsman, Joe loved hunting and fishing, particularly with his beloved Lab, Tessie.

He is survived by his son, James “Jim” McCall; his daughter, Shawna Connors; a sister, Katherine “Kathy” Chilcott; a brother, Ronald “Ron” (Kim) Erickson; a grandson, Ethan; and a granddaughter, Brianna.

He is also survived by his nephews, Ian Erickson, Eric (Katie) Ellis and Chris (Missy) Ellis and their children, Evan, Brook and Nicholas.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Carl “Freddie” and Mary “Mid” Erickson; and his wife, Carol McCall Erickson.

ERICKSON — A prayer service and viewing for Joseph Emmanuel Erickson, who died Saturday, June 30, 2018, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
