Francis L. “Frank” Tacik

Francis L. “Frank” Tacik, 77, of Gibsonia passed away on Monday morning at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born on Oct. 12, 1940, in Glassport, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie Mularz Tacik.

He graduated from Duquesne University with a B.S. in business.

Frank was a retired Lt. Colonel with the United States Air Force at the 911th Air Lift Wing. He had served from 1970 through the Vietnam War, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Highland Park.

Surviving are his wife, Eloise Jackson Tacik, whom he married on Aug. 19, 2005; two sons, Brian Tacik (Beth Mroz) and Kevin Tacik, all of Chicago; and a daughter, Amy (Brian) Shine of Ross Township.

He was the grandfather of Olivia, Oscar, Emma and another granddaughter due in October.

Frank is also survived by a brother, Donald (Dinean) Tacik of Mansfield, Ohio; two step nephews, John (Jodi) Ulmer of Buffalo, and Steven (Pia) Ulmer of Seattle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lynn Steward Tacik, whom he married on March 25, 1972, and who died on Sept. 25, 1994; a brother, Eugene Tacik; and a sister, Marie Lizik.

TACIK — Friends of Francis L. “Frank” Tacik, who died Monday, July 2, 2018, will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 5801 Hampton St., Pittsburgh, with the Rev. Bruce Robison officiating.
