Joseph F. Truman

Joseph F. Truman, 80, of Grove City, formerly of Butler passed away Tuesday at Grove City Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 5, 1938, in Butler, and was the son of the late Charles Truman and the late Margaret Moser Truman.

Joseph worked as an electrical engineer in the metal shop at AK Steel.

He was a past master of Victory Lodge 694 F&AM and was a Masonic Templar.

Joseph was a master of many things. He liked to take things apart and put them back together, making it his own. He loved the water, camping, fishing and spending time at the cabin in Erie.

He was Protestant by faith.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Debbie Bowser of Lyndora; one son, Daniel (Melissa) Truman of Slippery Rock; four grandchildren, Raechul Ouellette, Rebecca Bowser, Tyler Truman and Dylan Truman; two sisters, Margaret Truman Daniels Rossman of Melbourne, Fla., and Eva Kay Truman Huff Durant of Utah; his longtime companion, Linda Wolfe, and her extended family of Grove City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, David Truman; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Truman; and one son-in-law, Thomas Bowser Jr.

TRUMAN — Friends of Joseph F. Truman, who died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Members of Victory Lodge 694 F&AM will conduct a service at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Brady Randall officiating.Private burial will take place in North Side Cemetery later.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Temple, 346 S. Main St., Butler, PA 16001; Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N.
