Ida Mae Sechan
Ida Mae Sechan, 90, of Portersville and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday evening at her residence, with her family by her side.
Born Jan. 10, 1928, in Erie, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Angerett Notaro.
She was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect.
Along with her husband, she owned and operated Robert Sechan Trucking, Sechan Limestone Industries, Lake Arthur Estates and Beau-Chuck Contracting, Inc., all located in Pennsylvania; and the Sechan Reality, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She enjoyed her family time, all of her grandchildren and loved her dogs, especially, Coco. She enjoyed boating, watching Lifetime movies, shopping trips with her family and being outside and caring for her many beautiful flower beds. She was known throughout the town for her holiday decorations and will be remembered for her love of music and dancing.
She is survived by her loving family which includes her son, Robert John and his wife, Patricia L. Sechan, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; her grandchildren, Robert John (Jennifer) of New Canaan, Conn., Tiffany (Michael) Sechan-Timoney of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Shannon (William) Sechan-White of Cleveland, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Robert Sechan, Lauren Mae Sechan, Brandon Andrew Sechan and Meghan Sophia Sechan; her daughters-in-law, Sandra Hart Pettit of Washington, Pa., and Michelina Sechan of Florida; her sisters-in-law, Lucille Skrak of Prospect, and Janet Notaro of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and her niece, Rosanne McLaughlin of Prospect, who worked in the family business with her for over 45 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Sechan, whom she married Aug. 31, 1945, and who passed away July 18, 2012; a son, Charles Joseph Sechan; a grandson, Brian Charles Sechan, her siblings, Charles Notaro and John Notaro; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia S. Sechan.
SECHAN — Visitation for Ida Mae Sechan, who died Saturday, June 23, 2018, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Prospect, with the Rev.
