Butler facilities authority owes state sales tax
The Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds and Facilities Authority is planning to work out a payment plan to settle an outstanding sales tax obligation with the state Department of Revenue.
An obligation of less than $15,000 in unpaid taxes on concessions sales in 2015, 2016 and 2017 at Kelly Automotive Park was recently discovered. Authority officials said the Liquor Control Board brought the discrepancy to the authority's attention.
The authority filed required tax reports for the three years based on information provided by the Butler BlueSox, which operate the concessions under a contract with the authority, solicitor Tom Breth said.
Team officials could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
