Richard F. Terwilliger

Richard F. Terwilliger, 88, of Perry Township, Clarion County, passed away Friday morning at his home.

He was born Jan. 24, 1930, on the family farm in Perry Township, to the late Eli Tilden and Laura Belle Foust Terwilliger.

He was married in the parsonage on Sept. 14, 1951, at Callensburg, and enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage to the former Donna J. Riggle, who died April 18, 2011.

Dick was a heavy equipment operator most of life working for various coal companies, but his longest tenure was with C & K Coal Co. of Clarion, from where he retired.

He also owned and operated the former Eli Terwilliger family farm in Perry Township as long as health allowed him to enjoy farming.

He was a member of the West Freedom United Methodist Church.

Dick enjoyed hunting and creating many wooden, unique gifts for his family.

Surviving are six daughters, Karen (Arnold) Reedy, Marcia (Shirl) Pollock, Linda (Ronald) DeHart and Patty Terwilliger, all of Parker, Connie (Gale) Simpson of Toana, Va., and Denise (Randy) Kriebel of Callensburg; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy (Harold) Carmichael of Trafford, and June Bingaman of Gaithersburg, Md.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Glenna Morgan, Agnew McGlaughlin, Donald, Warren, Paul and Russell Terwilliger.

TERWILLIGER — Visitation for Richard F. Terwilliger, who died Friday, June 15, 2018, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
