Alvin L. Bollman

Alvin L. Bollman, 92, of Butler passed away on Monday at the VA Butler Healthcare.

He was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Gallitzen, Pa., and was the son of the late William Bollman and the late Esther Smith Bollman.

Alvin worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for Armco Steel, retiring in 1991 after 45 years of service.

He enjoyed woodworking.

Alvin is survived by his two daughters, Lorraine (Michael) Hildebrandt of Butler, and Brenda (Dave Konar) Matonak of Butler; two sons, Douglas Allen (Dyan) Bollman of Butler, and Dennis James (Beth) Bollman of Butler; four grandchildren, Candace Schlobohm, Cody Bollman, Dennis Bollman and Kiley Bresnahan; and four great- grandchildren, Logan Schlobohm, Rhemy Schlobohm, Gianna Bollman and Brody Bollman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnette McAfee Bollman, whom he married on Dec. 19, 1954, and who passed away in March of 1981; and one brother, James Bollman.

BOLLMAN — Friends of Alvin L. Bollman, who died Monday, June 11, 2018, will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Edmundson officiating.Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Pittsburgh, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
