Colleen “Co” Zarnick Collins
Colleen “Co” Zarnick Collins, 92, of Butler passed away Thursday at her residence.
She was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Wencil P. Zarnick and the late Elsie Myers Zarnick.
Colleen was a 1943 graduate of Butler High School.
She was employed by Butler Credit Union before her marriage, then became a homemaker.
Co was a former member and deaconess of Calvary Presbyterian Church. She volunteered in the Genealogy Department at Butler Public Library and also published the “Collins Family History Book” along with other Collins relatives.
Co enjoyed wintering in Myrtle Beach, reading, gardening, canning, traveling and above all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith Collins of Butler, and Brian Collins and his wife, Robyn, of Butler; four daughters, Gail Swartzlander of Butler, Leslie Raisley and her husband, Bill, of Prospect, Elaine Nocera and her husband, Randy, of Dayton, Ohio, and Marcia Hearl and her husband, Reggie of Conway, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Zarnick of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Collins, whom she married Nov. 21, 1949, and who passed away Feb. 17, 1998; a grandson, Isaac “Mack” Cramner; a son-in-law, Rick Swartzlander; and her sister-in-law, Donna Zarnick.
COLLINS — Friends of Colleen “Co” Zarnick Collins, who died Thursday, June 7, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen C. Cort of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect officiating.Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.Memorial donations are suggested to Butler Area Public Library, 218 N.
