Woman released after waiving child endangerment charges

Billie Jo Henry of Clearfield Township, charged with child endangerment in Summit Township crash.

CHICORA — A Clearfield Township woman was released from jail after her bail was changed to unsecured as part of her waiver of charges to county court Tuesday.

Billie Jo Henry, 43, waived two counts of child endangerment, accidents involving injury and accidents involving injury while not property licensed and seven traffic violations to Butler County Court of Common Pleas before a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Lewis Stoughton.

Her bail was reduced from $10,000 to $10,000 unsecured and she was released from Butler County Prison. Formal arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 14.

Henry was charged after an incident on Route 356 at Headland Road, Summit Township, after police said she was driving a vehicle west on Headland Road and crossed over Route 356, traveling down an embankment and rolling over several times, according to court documents.

Two children were in the vehicle and suffered injuries — including Henry's daughter, who was thrown out the back window. Both required medical treatment, police said.

Investigators believe the defendant was aware of the children's injuries, documents said, but fled before police got there.
