UPDATE

Butler firefighters extricated a female driver who was trapped in a car that rolled over on Shore Street Tuesday afternoon.

She and another woman who was in the car were taken to Butler Hospital following the 4 p.m. accident. Neither of the women’s names were immediately available.

The car struck a building along Shore Street, crossed South Chestnut Street and then struck an embankment between Shore Street and the Butler Farmers Market parking lot where it rolled on to its roof, said Lt. Chad Rensel of the Butler Police Department.

The driver, who might have experienced a medical problem before the accident, suffered a cut or bruise on her head and a cut on her knee, and the passenger complained about lower back pain, he said.

Butler Ambulance Service transported both women to the hospital.
