1 treated after collision in Forward Twp.

One person was transported Monday following a two-vehicle accident on Prospect Road in Forward Township.

FORWARD TOWNSHIP — One person was transported to a hospital Monday following a two-vehicle accident on Prospect Road in Forward Township.

Two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided, according to Justin Schoeffel, Evans City Area Volunteer Fire Department assistant chief.

One of the vehicles was resting near an embankment, while another was about 75 yards away from the other on the road, which has many tight corners in that area. Tire marks were also seen behind the second vehicle, which came to rest in the middle of the road.

Schoeffel said one person was transported to the hospital for additional medical treatment, while the other refused treatment at the scene. He said the drivers, a younger woman and an older male, both said the other driver crossed the center line, causing the accident.

The incident remains under investigation.

Crews from the Evans City and Callery fire departments were on scene for traffic control and response. Two Harmony EMS vehicles were also on scene, as was a State Police official.

According to Butler County 911 records, the accident was reported at 2:22 p.m. Monday at 508 Prospect Road.
