Harold E. Bolten

Harold E. Bolten, 90, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Mars, and was the son of the late Fred Bolten and the late Minda Goerhing Bolten.

Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

He was a machinist at Spang and Co. and Chick Machine Co.

Harold was a former member of Calvary Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed camping, playing cards and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Travers of Southbridge, Mass.; three grandchildren, April Travers of Massachusetts, Matthew Travers of Massachusetts, and Andrew Bolten of Georgia; one brother, Crawford Bolten and his wife, Bonnie, of Butler; one sister, Geneva Thompson of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Scott Bolten, who passed away Jan. 12, 2010; one son, Frederick H. Bolten; one brother; and one sister.

BOLTEN — Friends of Harold E. Bolten, who died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held immediately following at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Charles, retired pastor of Portersville Bible Church officiating.Burial will take place Monday in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Officers and members of the American Legion Post 117 of Butler, American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and VFW Post 249 of Butler will conduct military honors at 1 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Burial Estates Chapel.Memorials are suggested to Stay At Home, 110 Sasse Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
