William Jay Schaffer Sr.
William Jay Schaffer Sr., 75, of Winfield Township passed away on Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born Dec. 28, 1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Lawrence Schaffer and Margaret Goblinger Schaffer.
Jay served in the U.S. Navy.
He had worked as an iron worker for Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge for 30 years, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Co.
He enjoyed hunting and working in his yard.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Holly (Weber) Schaffer; his daughter, Lisa Schaffer of Butler; his son, William Jay (Betty) Schaffer Jr. of Cabot; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and his brother, Larry “Skip” (Karin) Schaffer of Saxonburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Joanne Edmison.
