State police seek registered sex offender
Authorities are seeking a registered sex offender who failed to notify state police that he moved from the home where he was recently living in Butler.
Danny Lee Malone Jr., 24, is wanted on three felony violations of Megan's Law. District Judge William Fullerton on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for him.
State police May 22 notified Butler police of their suspicion that the defendant no longer was living at an apartment on the 700 block of South Main Street.
Under Pennsylvania law, Malone is a designated Tier 1 sex offender, which means he must update his personal information with state police annually and within three days of moving, or changing a job, vehicle or a school.
He also is required to notify police when traveling to another state for more than a week. Additionally, his contact with children is restricted.
