Minivan, pickup truck crash

This minivan was damaged in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Route 422 in Summit Township.

SUMMIT TWP — One person was injured Tuesday morning when a minivan and pickup truck collided on Route 422 just east of Bonniebrook Road, authorities said.

State police said the driver of a Kia Sedona, a 66-year-old Ohio woman, was taken by East Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with injuries not considered serious.

Police are investigating the crash that occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m., but they did not immediately release the woman's name.

Justin Montgomery, 37, of Fenelton, who was driving the Ford F-150 pickup, said he was traveling west and headed to work when the eastbound van turned in front of him.

Montgomery said he hit his brakes but could not avoid the T-bone collision. He complained of a headache but he had no other apparent injuries. He said police convinced him to go to Butler memorial Hospital to be checked out.

Both vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed.

Lick Hill volunteer firefighters assisted police with traffic control. The wreck reduced traffic to one lane around the crash scene.
