A pair of neighbors on the 300 block of Virginia Avenue in Butler admit they remain on edge in wake of an early Sunday morning shooting that left bullet holes at their homes.

“It scared me and my grand kids,” Monty Hulings said Monday.

Just a couple houses away from Hulings, Thomas Foley acknowledged having similar feelings.

“It scares me,” he said. “I'm almost a little leery sitting here on my front porch.”

One bullet appeared to have hit and passed through the side of Foley's front porch. At least two bullets struck the front porch at Hulings' house, one hitting a post and the other a wooden railing.

No one was injured in the shooting that happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday. One other house on the same side of the street as Foley's and Hulings' may have been hit by the gunfire.

Neighbors said police eventually collected multiple casings and slugs as part of their investigation that night.

Butler police are investigating but telephone calls to police Tuesday were not returned.
