Joseph D. Pell Jr.

Joseph D. Pell Jr., 74, of Butler passed away May 16 at the VA Butler Healthcare following a long battle with cancer.

Born June 8, 1943, in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph D. Pell and Sophia (Bolibruck) Pell.

Joe was retired from the International Staple and Machine Co., following 40 years of service.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler, and had enjoyed golfing with his friends for over 20 years.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sister, Sandy (Bob) Steighner of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma McQueeney and Diana Pelle.

PELL — A Mass of Christian burial for Joseph D. Pell Jr., who died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz will officiate.Military honors will follow the Mass at the church and will be provided by the American Legion/VFW Honor Guard.Inurnment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.Arrangements by the Geibel Funeral Home, Butler.For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
