Joan K. Gindhart

Joan K. Gindhart, 73 of Trinity Living Center, formerly of Boyers, passed away peacefully Sunday.

Joan was born June 27, 1944, to James and Agnes Tethers in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Joan graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Philadelphia.

She married Richard Gindhart on May 25, 1968. He died Jan. 2, 2016.

Joan was Catholic in faith and practiced up until her health did not permit it. While living in Philadelphia, Joan attended St. Katherine of Siena.

Joan enjoyed the simple things in life, taking care of her family and her pets. She loved her cats, Pepper and Tiger. She enjoyed a good novel and always had music playing in the house. Joan would visit the Delaware River on occasion to watch the people and the boats passing by. Her grandchildren brought her great joy later in life.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory is her son, Kurt Gindhart and his wife, Amanda, and two grandchildren, Grace Rose and Kurt Robert Gindhart; her sister, Shelia Clark and her husband, AJ, of New York; her brother, Michael Tethers and his wife, Nina, of California; her sisters-in-law, Gloria Whalen and her husband, Frank, of New Jersey and Anna Mae Antes of Pennsylvania; and her longtime friend, Lynn Peszka

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, James and Thomas Tethers.

GINDHART — Family of Joan K. Gindhart, who died Sunday, May 20, 2018, will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday with funeral service to take place at 6 p.m. at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville, with the Rev. Mr. Nick Cirell, permanent deacon of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Emlenton, officiating.Friends can email condolences by visiting www.mckinleyfuneralhome.net.
