Wanda Lee Clawson

Wanda Lee Clawson, 86, of Chicora was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven Friday after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in this struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Wanda was born July 22, 1931, in Karns City. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Lewis Snyder.

She was a 1949 graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School.

Wanda married Robert Clawson at Karns City United Methodist Church on March 1, 1956. Robert preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1986.

She retired from Penn Champ in East Butler after 30 years of employment.

Wanda loved sports and especially loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She was a member of two Red Hat Society groups and enjoyed wearing her various red and purple accessories. Shopping was one of her favorite activities.

Wanda was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Her loving companion at home was always her dog.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Joan Garing and Lydia Emerick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Richard Snyder.

CLAWSON — Friends of Wanda Lee Clawson, who died Friday, April 27, 2018, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Karns City United Methodist Church with the Rev.
