Head-on crash closes Route 68 bridge
Two vehicles, each with one driver, crashed into each other head-on at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, causing the Route 68 bridge to close.
BUTLER TWP — Two vehicles, each with one driver, crashed into each other head-on at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, causing the Route 68 bridge to close.
Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and there were unspecified injuries according to police officers on the scene. One driver is reportedly still trapped.
Medical helicopters have arrived and are on standby, according to emergency dispatches.
UPDATE: Both drivers have been taken via medical helicopters to area hospitals. One driver was flown to UPMC Presbyterian. The other driver was flown to Allegheny General Hospital, according to emergency dispatches.
