John H. McKrell
John H. McKrell, 88, of Richland Township, formerly of Russellton, West Deer Township, died April 19 with his family by his side.
He was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Curtisville, and was a son of the late James B. and Frances V. (Cambell) McKrell.
John grew up in West Deer and graduated from West Deer High School in 1947.
He had lived in Richland since 2008 and before that, Connoquenessing Township for more than 17 years.
After graduation from high school, he went on to receive his bachelor's degree in business administration from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill.
Following his graduation, John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict in Germany, achieving the rank of corporal.
After returning to the states, Mr. McKrell went to work for Magee-Womens Hospital where he spent more than 25 years. During his tenure at Magee-Womens Hospital, he worked as the director of human resources for 21 years and then as the vice-president of special services for four years. Also during that time, Mr. McKrell received his master's of business administration degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1975.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans City and the American Legion, also in Evans City.
He enjoyed traveling, reading, golf, sports events and music events.
Survivors include his brother, James B. (Nancy J.) McKrell of Russellton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Judy L. McKrell.

Washington St. #1, Evans City, with his pastor, the Rev.
