Joseph J. Vidnic

Joseph J. Vidnic, 81, formerly of Pittsburgh and a resident of Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Care for three years, passed away peacefully Friday.

Joseph was a member of Most Holy Name Parish.

He was an avid fisherman, having the nickname “King of the River,” and he was a favorite resident of Sunnyview and earned the nickname “JoJo.”

Joseph was the beloved husband for 59 years of Lois E. (Jones) Vidnic; loving father to Cathleen Neese, Joseph J. (Melissa) Vidnic Jr., Kenny (Maura) Vidnic; and loving grandfather to Beth (Justin) DeSantis, Kelly (Dave) Werner, Joseph Vidnic, Michael Vidnic and Katie Vidnic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marion (Lake) Vidnic.

VIDNIC — Friends of Joseph J. Vidnic, who died Friday, April 20, 2018, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Ross Township.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Most Holy Name Parish, 1700 Harpster St., Pittsburgh.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wounded Warrior project in Joseph's memory, www.woundedwarriorproject.orgFond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brandtfuneralhome.com for the Vidnic family.
