Nancy Covert Brantley

Nancy Covert Brantley died Wednesday from Alzheimer's disease at Countryside Nursing Home in Mercer.

Nancy was the second of seven children, born April 22, 1936, to Elizabeth Keister Covert and Andrew Boggs Covert. She grew up in Harrisville.

Nancy was married for 45 years to Fred Gray Brantley of Mooresville, N.C., who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Aileen Simpson Cudoc of Valencia, Ann Simpson Stillwagon of Grove City, and Karen Weiss Fein from Solon, Ohio; her stepchildren, Shelia Brantley of Hamden, Conn., Susan Rodgers of Mooresville, N.C., and Texas Kidd of Charlotte, N.C.

She had 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Five siblings survive Nancy.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Jerry Lane Brantley.

She was a singer throughout her lifetime and was a member of First Baptist Church in Mooresville, N.C. Nancy enjoyed homemaking, gardening and cherished her family.
