Frank J. “Sal” Russo Jr.

Frank J. “Sal” Russo Jr., 77, of Butler, passed away Sunday at his home.

Born Nov. 12, 1940, in Butler, he was a son of the late Frank J. and Emma Cousins Russo Sr.

He was employed for 30 years as a steel inspector at Butler Armco.

Sal served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Merchant Marine. He was a member of American Legion Post 778 and American Vets.

He is survived by two children, Lori J. Russo of Pittsburgh and Frank J. Russo III of Butler; three sisters, Barbara Russo of Frisco, Texas, Marsha Russo of Butler and Sherry Russo-Card and her husband, Kevin, of Portland, Ore.; one grandson, Tony Russo; and his beloved nephew, Nick Russo of DeBary, Fla.

He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Michael Russo, who died Jan. 21, 1994; and one brother, Nicodemus Russo, who died Jan. 10, 1991.

RUSSO — Friends of Frank J. “Sal” Russo Jr., 77, of Butler, who passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, followed by a blessing service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Burial will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery.For more information, visit www.martinfh.net.
