Karen Lee “Sis” Lasichak Weichey

Karen Lee “Sis” Lasichak Weichey, 74, passed away at 1:30 p.m. April 2 at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Ga.

She was born Nov. 5, 1943, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Marian (Guntrum) Lasichak. She was united in marriage to Chester E. Weichey on Nov. 22, 1958, in Butler.

Karen was retired from Oak Hill Elementary School in Covington, Ga., where she worked in the cafeteria for more than 10 years.

Karen was also a graduate from Butler Beauty School and had her own shop in Renfrew before moving to Daytona Beach, Fla., in 1980.

Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her whole world.

She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Newton County.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Weichey Sr. of Covington, Ga.; her daughter, Diana “Nan” Weichey (Neil Hart) Harrison of Lilburn, Ga.; and her son, Chester (Sheila) Weichey Jr. of Daytona Beach Fla.; three loving grandchildren, Melissa (Lance) Giles of Norcross, Ga., and Chaz and Siera Weichey of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Corbin and Anissa Giles, and Milena and McKenna Weichey; two sisters, Fayme “Toot” (Jake) Orloski of Butler, and Jane (William) Bates of Covington, Ga.; a brother, Ronald “Duke” (Jean) Lasichak of Butler; and her furry companion, Rambo.

WEICHEY — A celebration of life in memory of Karen Lee “Sis” Lasichak Weichey, who died Monday, April 2, 2018, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Lyndora American Legion in the Victory Room. Friends and family are invited to stay for a meal immediately following.Karen's wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will be take place later.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in her honor.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
