BUTLER TWP — A township man is on a mission to increase recycling throughout the county through allowing refuse service customers a choice in garbage and recycling providers.

Butler Township resident Frank Motko said many people in his community do not separate their recyclable trash, and he feels it is because of the township contracts with a trash hauler and residents are disgruntled at being told what trash hauler to use.

But Vogel disposal officials, who have contracted with the township for more than a decade, said they feel most people place their recyclable items in the bins every two weeks as required.
