William “Wil” Morrow
In loving memory of our beloved William “Wil” Morrow
July 16, 1981 - April 28, 2005.
We walked up the trail into the hills.
It was cool in the shade and pleasantly warm
With the sun filtering,
gently thru the leaves.
Leaves of your favorite green, iridescent and shimmering
Against a deep cobalt blue sky.
We could hear water
flowing quickly
Over boulders and stones, far below in the valley.
A hawk soared overhead; a snake basked in the sun.
We talked about ourselves, our lives, our friends.
Are you married now; does someone call you dad?
Are you learning about dance steps or T-ball?
Is coaching dek hockey and bowling as much fun as playing the game?
While we climb the craggy path and you offer me a hand, I imagine your life.
Deep in my heart I know that this can never be,
And I cry a little.
But as we keep true to the path, I thank God
For the man that you were and the life that you led.
You were kind; caring; a gentle soul
Who truly left this world a better place by being here.
Always missed, forever in our hearts.
