Lewis Lamont Nicklas

Lewis Lamont Nicklas, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday.

Born Nov. 6, 1935, in Callery, he was the son of the late Elmer and Gwenola Nicklas. He was a graduate of Evans City High School.

Lewis lived in Prospect for 58 years. He married the love of his life, Naomi Gail Davidson, on June 25, 1955.

He retired from the Butler School District in the 1980s.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, making walking sticks and visiting with neighbors, friends and family.

He was a member of Community Alliance Church for many years.

Lewis is survived by his children, Mark (Jennifer) Nicklas of Manassas, Va., Scott Nicklas of Whitewater, Wis., and Susan (Warren) Wittey of Palmer, Alaska; his sisters, Virginia (Robert) Chambers of Buffalo, N.Y., Kathy (David) Stuebgen of Harmony, and Gayle Nicklas of Indiana, Pa.; his brother, Norman (Evelyn) Nicklas of Camp Hill, Pa.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Gail Nicklas; his sister, Gretta Spicer; and his granddaughter, Kira Nicklas.

NICKLAS — Friends of Lewis Lamont Nicklas, who died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 6 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Chambers officiating.Lewis will be laid to rest at the Greenlawn Burial Estates.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
