Iris Turner Wood
Iris Turner Wood, 88, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born June 24, 1929, in Butler, and was the daughter of the late Samuel J. Turner and the late Margaret Watterson Turner.
Iris was a graduate of Butler High School.
She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and their quilters group.
Iris was an accomplished seamstress. Her pastimes included needlework, quilting, reading and spending time with her family.
Iris is survived by one daughter, Judith Starr of Dryden, N.Y.; one son, David N. (Kathy) Wood of Elizabeth Township; five grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; four nieces; and nine nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Wood, whom she married June 16, 1951, and who passed away Feb. 17, 2018; one brother, Samuel Turner; three sisters, Marjorie McCune, Peggy Thoma and Vivian Kalberer; and one son-in-law, Stephen Starr.
WOOD — Friends of Iris Turner Wood, who died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
