Armstrong County woman gets ARD for trooper attack
An Armstrong County woman was placed into the county Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program in Butler County Court on Wednesday, after being charged with assaulting a state police trooper in August.
Vickie L. Warner, 56, of Parker was placed into the program for one year by Judge William Shaffer on the charges of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and summary harassment.
She was also ordered to continue counseling and complete 20 hours of community service.
The ARD program allows charges to be suspended while the program is being completed, and if successful may be dismissed and expunged.
Warner was charged by state police after troopers responded to a home on School Street in Bruin for a domestic dispute on Aug. 24.
Police said Warner appeared intoxicated and was taken outside and told to remain on the front porch. But she is accused of disobeying police orders and trying to return inside the home.
When troopers moved in to arrest her, she turned around and hit a trooper in the chest multiple times with an open hand and closed fist, and hit another trooper in the right leg with an ashtray that was on a table on the porch.
