BUTLER TWP — Township police have identified the three people involved in a vehicle accident Sunday night at the intersection of Route 8 and Cooledge Street.

Quinn Sassone, 22, of Butler was driving northbound on Route 8 in a Dodge sedan at 7:15 p.m. when he “hit his brakes suddenly,” causing him to veer off the road, according to police.

His car hit the driver’s side of a Jeep Cherokee driven by Eric Staab, 55, of Zelienople, police said.

Sassone, Staab and Jennifer Horner, 52, of Butler, who was a passenger in the Jeep, were all taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The South Butler Fire Department, Butler Ambulance Service and Butler City Fire Department responded to the accident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
