SAXONBURG — The South Butler School Action Committee is inviting residents and the school board to attend a town hall meeting next week.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Saxonburg Fire Department ballroom, 210, Horne Ave., according to a news release.
The purpose of the town hall is “to have a conversation with South Butler County School Board members regarding pressing matters in the school district,” according to the release.
The South Butler teachers have been on strike since March 15 when negotiators with the school board and the teachers’ union failed to reach an agreement.
[naviga:h3]Lawmaker slates senior breakfast[/naviga:h3]
CENTER TWP — State Rep. Tedd Nesbit, R-8th, is hosting a senior breakfast at 9:30 a.m. April 13 at the Unionville Fire Company hall, 102 Mahood Road, to educate senior citizens on financial topics including scams, property tax/rent rebates and programs funded by the state lottery.
The 90-minute breakfast is free, but seniors must register by April 10 by calling Nesbit’s Grove City office at 724-458-4911 or by emailing lmoore@pahousegop.com.
