The GFWC Junior Women's Club of Butler raised about $6,000 at the 17th annual Twilight Magic Speakeasy fundraising gala Saturday.
Staged at The Atrium, 1031 New Castle Road, Franklin Township, the event featured dancing, basket raffle, silent auction, 50/50, wine pull, bootleggers heist and casino games.
The proceeds of the activities and ticket prices benefit local nonprofits. Two hundred people attended, organizers said.
The recipients included Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County, Butler County Alliance for Children, Child Advocacy Center, Healing 4 Heroes Hearts, Junior Women's Club Scholarship, academic scholarship open to high school seniors in Butler County (male and female) and the Distinguished Young Women Scholarship.Volunteering and community involvement for the gala included Gateway Gardens, chef tasting party for Community Care Connections, the ARC of Butler County, VOICe and the March of Dimes March for Babies.
