JEFFERSON TWP — A third person is accused in Sunday's break-in of a Saxonburg Road house where $3,400 in property was reported stolen.

Christopher W. Thompson, 22, of Penn Township was arraigned March 18 on felony charges of burglary and theft, and misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and defiant trespass.

State police earlier arrested Barry J. Murray, 22, of Butler and Alexandra L. Christmann, 18, of Slippery Rock on similar charges in the same alleged crime.

Troopers were called for the break-in just before 4 p.m. March 17 for a home in the 400 block of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township. The owner told police that a back window had been pushed in, according to court documents.

Among the property taken were two flat-screen TVs, a computer, two soundbars, a Sony PlayStation 4 video game console, an Apple iPad and $500 in currency.

Police that same evening interviewed Murray, who they say confessed to the crime and implicated Christmann and Thompson.

Christmann during an interview, police said, recounted that they took the stolen property to Thompson's garage on Three Degree Road.

Police on March 18 obtained a search warrant for Thompson's home and garage.

“All stolen items with the exception of the iPad,” documents said, “were recovered at the residence (of Thompson's home) and its garage.”

Following the search, police said, Thompson confessed, too.

Murray and Thompson are in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail each. Christmann is free on similar bail.

Preliminary hearings for all three defendants are set April 4 at the office of District Judge Sue Haggerty in Saxonburg.
