Orries Pennington

Orries “Orrie” Rea Pennington, 70, of Petrolia passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday.

He was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Eldorado, Pa., to the late Fred and Mildred Rea Pennington.

He was a graduate of Karns City High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam.

He owned the family homestead where he liked farming, the outdoors, cooking and singing Irish songs. He owned and operated J & S Industrial Supplies.

He is survived by his son, Jason and Rosary Pennington of Clarion; his grandson, Gunner Pennington of whom he was very, very proud; three sisters, Loretta Rey of Harrisburg, Sonja Cratty of West Sunbury and Randa and Butch Anthony of Eldorado; two brothers, Clarence Pennington of Kingsport, Tenn., and Otis and Doreen Pennington of Eldorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Lee Gehrs; and his brother, Lewis Pennington.

PENNINGTON — Friends of Orries “Orrie” Rea Pennington, who died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main streets, Chicora, with the Rev. Paul DeBacco officiating.
